Sharon choose to heal

“Healing is choosing myself every day—even when the world doesn’t.”

Sharon D.'s story is rooted in resilience, showing resilience, growth, and the importance of community. This story reflects the heart of resilience, showing how neighbors show up, share resources, and build strength together. It’s about turning small moments into lasting change—one safe conversation, one brave choice, one open door at a time.

Why they reached out

Sharon left a long-term harmful relationship and was searching for a way to rebuild without judgment. As a white woman married to a Black man, raising a biracial child in a small town, she often felt the sting of isolation.

How we helped

We connected her with counseling, a peer support group, and safe space gatherings where she could find community.
