Root the Future
“…we are here, and we are building a future that belongs to all of us.”
We are entering a new chapter. After years of supporting folks in scattered spaces—coffee shops, borrowed meeting rooms, and kitchen tables—we now have a home of our own in the historic Westminster Building on C Avenue.
This building has always carried meaning for our town. Walking its halls brings back memories of laughter and energy that shaped childhoods.
Our vision is to be a place where a biracial family can attend a parenting circle without fear of judgment, where a queer teen can step onto a stage and be heard, and where elders can pass down cultural stories that might otherwise be lost.
We know this journey won’t be easy. Restoring a historic space takes resources, patience, and trust. But every coat of paint, every chair set up, and every voice lifted is proof of what can happen when a community refuses to settle for invisibility.
For the Lightkeepers, this building isn’t just about bricks and mortar—it’s about legacy.
