Why they reached out
After being kicked out by his family, Marcus was sleeping in his car and facing discrimination at shelters for being a Black trans man. He needed safety—and dignity.
How we helped
Lightkeepers helped Marcus get into transitional housing and connected him to gender-affirming care and a peer mentor. He now gives back by mentoring others facing similar struggles.
